About the Role

Reporting to Plant Manager with a secondary report to the Purchasing Manager, this role will carry out close liaison with the Site Supervisors to ensure site requirements are met, ensuring that deliveries are complete as ordered, main an auditable record system, correct usage of materials, stock levels are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Checking, signing off delivery dockets/packing slips and receiving goods for the project that as per order and are in good condition.
  • File delivery dockets or packing slips in a timely manner.
  • Distribution of goods to sites or store goods for project inventory.
  • Issue store stocked items as required, write up each issue with correct cost code before distribution and record all daily transactions.
  • Maintain an inventory list with weekly regular stock checks to ensure inventory level is kept at a reasonable and accurate level.
  • Keep the store and lay down area in a safe, clean and tidy condition at all times.
  • Keep track of all hire equipment with regular contact with purchasing department and the hirer to make sure that the plant is returned promptly when not in use.
  • Regularly inspect hand tools, leads etc. for damage or wear and take appropriate steps to remedy damage or faults, ensuring regulatory requirements are in place i.e. Electrical tagging;
  • Regularly inspect rigging equipment for damage or wear and take appropriate steps to remedy damage or faults, ensuring regulatory requirements are in place i.e. certified load tags;
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is certified and all legislative requirements are complied with and current e.g. listed on site registers.

Here's what you'll need

  • Able to use computer systems particularly excel and email;
  • Understand the theory of stock management and the importance of Maximum/Minimum stock control;
  • Competent to drive materials handling equipment;
  • Honest;
  • Self-assured and decisive;
  • Good communicator.
  • This position is open to Solomon Islanders only.
