About the Role

Some of our projects are often in isolated and challenging environments. Reporting to Project Manager, you will ensure the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for a designated Project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control. Key to this role is the ability to build and maintain relationships to achieve work and team-related goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical, engineering, inspections, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control functions for all activities at site
  • Implement the inspection and test requirements of the Project Execution Plan
  • Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel
  • Provide general technical assistance to supervisory staff
  • Liaise with the Communications Team and provide input to the Communications Plan, and where applicable assist in the distribution of relevant notices
  • Ensure that Superintendents and sub-contractors are informed of current planned performance schedules
  • Report on field progress and performance achievements
  • Provide relevant statistics for audit reporting
  • Assist in carrying out toolbox meetings and pre-starts, as required
  • Participate in bid evaluation of field subcontractors
  • Maintain the project document control and filing systems
  • Maintain systems for and perform field progress evaluation and compare actual with planned progress
  • Ensure any RFI and/or IST queries are responded to/followed up on
  • Complete punch list for distribution to functional areas

Here's what you'll need

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification
  • Preferably four years’ experience in a construction / engineering environment
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules
  • Clear communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to deal with people across all levels of the organization
  • Diligent
  • Outstanding attention to detail
