VACANCY ANNOUCEMENT 2024/02: SOUTH PACIFIC OIL’S BOARD SECRETARY

South Pacific Oil Limited is one of the largest Corporate Organizations in the Solomon Islands. It imports and sells petroleum products: unleaded petrol, Automotive Diesel, Jet A1 fuels, and a large range of automotive, marine, and industrial lubricants. It is 100% owned by the people of the Solomon Islands through their contribution to the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund. We have an exciting position; SPO Board Secretary. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop his/her career within the fuel and oil industry. Hence, we are inviting applications from interested and eligible candidates:

Summary of Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Board Chairman and CEO on Board meetings to compliant to Solomon Islands company law 2019.
  • Coordinate with Board and Management in cascading Board Resolutions.
  • Ensuring compliant and transparency in Board matters.

Summary of Competencies Required:

  • Demonstrate legal knowledge and compliance.
  • Has administrative and organization skills.
  • Communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance Best practices.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Management.
  • Technological Proficiency.

Qualification and Experiences Required:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, corporate governance is preferred. Candidates with proven administrative experience will also be considered. At least must have 5 years’ experience in corporate governance or compliance role, such as a corporate secretary, compliance officer is highly valuable. Knowledgeable in legal background, board secretary experience, regulatory compliance, stakeholder management, confidentiality and integrity, technology skills, adaptability and learning ability.
