tional Finance (SI) Ltd. is a dynamic force within the Solomon Islands finance industry with offices in Honiara Auki and Gizo We are looking for quality people keen to work with a respected Solomon Islands financial organisation with a can-do attitude and a reputation for responsible lending.

We currently have the following role available for the right person:

COUNTRY MANAGER – SOLOMON ISLANDS

Located in Honiara and reporting directly to the Managing Director and Group HR Manager this is a senior position within the company and will be remunerated accordingly.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Plan, train and drive the performance of your counter and field sales teams both in Honiara, Auki and Gizo.
  • Plan train and monitor the performance of your collections team.
  • Review all applications before they are submitted to credit.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programmes.
  • In the absence of Group HR Manager represent the organisation at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Take overall responsibility for payroll and biometric sign on system.
  • Reinforce our Code of Conduct and Computer Use Policy to all staff including management.
  • In conjunction with Group HR, you will implement a best practice performance evaluation system within the organisation to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organisation.
  • Explore opportunities to expand our footprint in Solomon Islands via either new branch openings and/or the appointment of sales Agents in selected areas.
  • Explore opportunities to expand our product offering to Business Lending, Asset Finance and larger secured personal borrowings.

Position requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ recent experience in a similar role with a medium to large reputable financial services company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a finance related discipline or senior management experience.
  • Computer Literate and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with core banking system Finpower would be an advantage.
  • Basic competence with IT hardware and software installation.
  • Be able to act independently and make strategic decisions in times of need.
  • Clear credit and police history.
